Balt Cup

The Estonian Taekwondo Association has organised an international Taekwondo (ITF) tournament since 2002. It is part of the official competition calendar of the International Taekwon-do Federation. In recent years it has been the largest Taekwondo event in the Baltic states.

All Taekwondo events are represented in the competition programme:

  1. Patterns (tul)
  2. Sparring (masogi)
  3. Board breaking (virek)
  4. Special jump technique (te-ki)
  5. Self-defence (hosinsul)

Competitions are held in all age groups:

  1. Children
  2. Juniors
  3. Adults
  4. Veterans

The competition is enlivened by demonstrations and an entertainment programme. In recent years athletes from England, Belarus, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Russia (Moscow, St Petersburg, Pskov, Kabardino-Balkaria) and Ukraine have taken part.

Balt Cup 2019

On 11-12 May the annual international ITF Taekwon-Do tournament BaltCup-2019 took place at the Kalev Sports Hall in the capital. This year the tournament was given the highest rank in the ITF Taekwon-Do grading, "A-class". On six mats over two days about 300 athletes from Russia, Belarus, Latvia, Finland and Estonia competed for the title of the best in the Baltics.

On 12-13 May about 300 athletes from Ukraine, Belarus, Russia and Estonia took part in the Baltic Cup at the Athletics Hall.

On 13-14 May the "BaltCup" tournament took place at the Lasnamäe Athletics Hall in Tallinn. More than 300 athletes gathered from Latvia, Finland, Ukraine, Belarus, Russia and Estonia.

2016

On 14-15 May the 15th "BaltCup" tournament took place at the Tondiraba Ice Hall in Tallinn. More than 300 athletes gathered from Latvia, Finland, Ukraine, Belarus, Russia and Estonia.

2015

Balt Cup 2015

On 16-17 May the 14th "BaltCup" tournament took place at the Lasnamäe Athletics Hall in Tallinn. Representatives of twenty sports clubs from Belarus, Latvia, Finland, Russia and Estonia, about 300 delegates in all, took part. The athletes of the Katleri Taekwondo Club were the most successful.

2014

On 10-11 May the "BaltCup" tournament took place at the Lasnamäe Athletics Hall. This year about 500 delegates from Belarus, Latvia, Finland, Ukraine, Russia and Estonia took part. This time the Kyiv club "Sparta" took first place in the team ranking by total number of medals.

On 11-12 May the international "BaltCup" tournament took place at the Lasnamäe Athletics Hall. There were more than 200 participants from Russia, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Belarus and Ukraine.

2012

Balt Cup 2012

On 5-6 May 2012 the international "BaltCup" tournament took place at the Lasnamäe Athletics Hall. About 300 athletes from Belarus, Latvia, Finland, Ukraine, Russia and Estonia took part. The tournament was one of the preparation stages for the Estonian national team for the Taekwondo World Championships held in Tallinn in August.

On 28-29 May the "BaltCup" tournament took place at the Kalev Sports Hall. About 300 athletes from Belarus, Latvia, Finland, Ukraine, Russia and Estonia took part. The Belarus team came first.

2010

On 15-16 May the "BaltCup" took place at the Kalev Sports Hall, with about 300 athletes from Latvia, Finland, Russia, Belarus, Norway, Ukraine and Estonia. This time the team from Ukraine came first.

2009

On 6-7 June the 8th international "BaltCup" tournament took place at the Kalev Sports Hall. More than 250 athletes from 6 countries took part: Belarus, Finland, Latvia, Poland, Russia, Estonia.

On 30 May the "BaltCup" tournament took place at the Kalev Sports Hall. Athletes gathered from Estonia, Moldova, Ukraine, Belarus, Finland, Latvia and Russia.

On 12-13 May the international "BaltCup" tournament took place at the Kalev Sports Hall. More than 200 people came from Estonia, Belarus, Latvia, England, Finland and Russia.

2006

Balt Cup 2006

On 13-14 May the "BaltCup" took place at the Kalev Sports Hall. The tournament was held for the fifth time, and this year about 250 athletes from seven countries took part: Belarus, Finland, Latvia, Moldova, Russia, Ukraine and Estonia. In the overall results of the two days the Estonian team took first place.

On 14-15 May the "BaltCup" tournament took place at the Kalev Sports Hall. More than 250 participants gathered from Estonia, Latvia, Russia, Moldova and Belarus.

2004

On 24 April the third "BaltCup" took place at the Kalev Sports Hall. About 200 athletes from 10 teams came from Estonia, Latvia and Russia. This year the Baltic Cup competitions were entered in the calendar of the International Taekwon-do Federation.

On 19 April the second "BaltCup" tournament took place at the Kalev Sports Hall. There were almost 100 athletes from four countries: Belarus, Latvia, Russia and Estonia.

The first "BaltCup" in history took place on 1 June at the Kalev Sports Hall. Athletes from Estonia, Russia, Latvia and Lithuania took part.
